Up to 10 participants can participate in a conference call out of their inclusive landline or mobile minutes, using an 03 access number. Visit: http://03talk.com/

Excellent find! This can be a lot of benefit for international users too as calls to UK landlines are cheap from pretty much everywhere in the world (or included on most freeday plans of Betamax for example). They also have a normal 01 access number in case the 03 one does not work from overseas. However the 01 does not work from within the UK. Am a bit confused by one small detail.... its a great feature for talk talk users with international calls plans.
How could this benefit talk-talk users with international talk plans in the UK? Isn't the number to dial in the UK, so you only need a normal inclusive minutes plan?

You might also look at Localphone, as it should be possible to access via their local numbers all over the world But I agree this new service looks very interesting, partly as it looks simple to set up, not account based, and easy enough to explain to friends who get bored hearing about phone ideas that are a bit too abstruse

oops, i think i might have got my wires crossed here. i think i have successfully confused 3-way calling with confererence calling. but i still think its a great find, and from an international point of view, if a family member (say a set of parents) have 2 sets of families in the UK, then this feature would be good.

I think these are more or less the same thing! 3 way calling is just a conference call but with only 3 members!

The main differences are that three-way calling enables you to call someone else during an existing call, then bring them into your conversation,so you control the call, and pay for it if appropriate. Plus on a landline you would normally need to pay to have the calling feature activated . £2.50p a month on BT, or pay 65p each time you set up a call. Using this service you cant control whether people join in or not,but you dont pay for their call if appropriate or any set up fees. I note that you can use this service from overseas if you wish to invite someone from outside the UK to join in. " Does 03TALK offer international access? Yes, you can invite people outside the UK to your 03TALK conference. Should they experience problems calling 0330 330 0330 from overseas, please ask them to use our international access number (44 12345 52 330). [Please note, this number will not work for calls originating in the UK and offers no cost saving over the 03 access number for UK callers.]" Source: http://03talk.com/faq/

i get it. my aim was for eg. let my relatives in the uae call to a uk landline and then i could bring in my relatives in india to the conversation, so in effect, my uae relatives would pay less to call a uk landline than an indian number. but this is not possible as india would have to call into this number, which is not what i wanted. a good find nevertheless.

Ah yes... that is the crucial difference between 3 way calling and conference calling. Thanks BigJohn! To Seanjoe: I used to do something similar to link up various family members of mine at Christmas etc. but with the type of 3 way calling (and BT) that BigJohn was talking about! Even though I had a BT line, I used to do it via calling cards and 3rd party providers (e.g. 1899/Betamax etc.) but just used BT as the basic lnking facility. In this way I would still pay for all the calls, but could still do it very cheaply! BT used to just charge the fixed fee (which used to be 50p I believe... now 65p or the monthly flat fee), but the other legs of the call I would do via other providers. The process was something like: 1. dial the 1st international number via your chosen method, speak to the person and tell them you will put them on hold for a few minutes 2. Press Recall 3. Dial the 2nd number via your chosen method 4. Link the calls by some code (Recall and 3 or something). There are instructions on the BT website. In this way you can still make the calls for free or cheap (e.g. by using one of the Pre-Dial methods) and only use BT as the link! I note that you can use this service from overseas if you wish to invite someone from outside the UK to join in...please ask them to use our international access number (44 12345 52 330). [Please note, this number will not work for calls originating in the UK and offers no cost saving over the 03 access number for UK callers.]"
Yes... as has already been posted a few posts higher up!

The 03 service seems to have stopped. The cheapest alternative i have found for small groups from a landline is http://www.ozoneconferencing.com/lite/index.php via a 0845 access number which depending on the participants supplier may be included in callers inclusive landline minutes.

I was avoiding jumping in on this thread, but since it appears 03Talk have stopped their service for the time-being, and it was something you guys were using, I hope you won’t mind me pointing you to a service we ( Localphone) launched a little while back: ConferenceBuster.

I should add, I’d welcome any feedback you have about the site or the service itself. We currently limit a room to six participants (as the number grows the more audio channels have to be mixed together, requiring more processing power) but other than that there is no cap on the frequency or length of calls.

Hi, The 03TALK service is back up and running following some adjustments to our service. Our free 03TALK service now allows up to 20 callers to join a conference at the same time. If you require additional access for more participants, we will be launching our paid plans very soon. These paid plans will offer advanced conferencing functionality. As soon as these plans have been launched, I will post the details. The only cost you will incur for using our basic service is the cost to call our mobile friendly access number - 0330 330 0330. Any comments or feedback on the 03TALK service would be greatly appreciated.
