Niftylist has started as a personal project to fill la gap in the market and find better prices for calling abroad from UK. The forum which was an integral part of nifty, has grown to a point where discussion is around many things to do with Telecom, broadband, mobiles etc.

I think it's time we move to a more generic domain and try to expand the discussion a bit. One of the problems was, inside niftylist, the discussion was limited and some users felt they can't discuss competitors with ease.

So it's time to set the forum free, make it easier for people to pronounce the name and keep the community going forward.

This forum will grow to allow discussion of everything to do with Telecom from the UK consumer point of view.

If you have ideas, questions, bug reports, please feel free PM me with suggestions.

Happy posting.  8)

Oron

New features :

Each user has new profile fields on so we can all share our provider choices and comment on them.

you can see my choices for near each of my posts,

Current problems :

None right now. Please report.

Thoughts :

We can have a sub forum for specific countries so users can update each other on new services found for this country. having 200+ sub forums is not a good choice, but maybe just for the top destinations like India, Pakistan, South Africa etc ?

you can press the give karma link (like I just did for you and Thunderman as a test) to give the member points, it's like saying thank you if you think what he / she wrote was informative / helpful etc.

Post count is a good way to see reputation of members, but that's building only on quantity. Karma introduced the quality side of things.  ;D

I have a niggling question. I missed the original Karma war days... but why was it decided to remove it (a few years ago) and then reinstate it again a few months ago?

Is that because some people are no longer around?

Karma was installed as good/bad karma in the original attempt. Which started some nasty wars between users. This time I reintroduced it with only good karma. So something more like the MSE 'say thanks' feature.

Just a way to have some sort of extra quality control to users profiles. Not just quantity but also quality.
